Objective
Compare the wear performance of Creusabro® 8000 to 450 HB water-quenched steel in crusher interlinings, with the aim of improving wear life and reducing the frequency of part turning or replacement — all while using thinner material.
Test Conditions
Location: Aggregate and gravel production facility in Sweden
Environment: Heavy abrasive wear from continuous crushing of stone, with repeated contact between the interlining and processed material.
Function: Crusher interlining plates that protect the machine structure and require regular turning or replacement as they wear.
Original material: 450 HB water-quenched steel, 8 mm thickness
Replacement material: Creusabro® 8000, 6 mm thickness, processed by plasma cutting.
Results
With 450 HB steel (8 mm), the interlining had to be turned or replaced twice to process 200,000 tonnes.
